Join this leading academic center children’s hospital in the Southeastern United States as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Transitional Care Nursery. This 178 bed organization treats patients from birth to adulthood and is committed to achieving and maintaining a standard of excellence in all they do, consistently striving to make their patient experiences models of quality care through advanced treatment, compassionate support, and full family participation and communication. Their physicians have advanced training and extensive experience in 28 pediatric specialties.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist in the NICU at this leading academic center children's hospital will be a member of the team that provides direct patient care services to sick and critically ill neonates in this 48 bed unit. In this role, they will manage their caseload in consultation with NNP colleagues and the supervising physician. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will use their leadership skills and experience to lead the team in the assessment, diagnosis and development of the plan of care for these young patients and their families. Additional responsibilities will include education, consultation and research throughout their entire healthcare system.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Nursing required; completion of an accredited master’s prepared nurse practitioner program with national NNP certification; current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina; current NRP certification; minimum 3 years experience in nursery ICU; 1 year of experience as an NNP in a tertiary ICN preferred.
