Title: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Inpatient GI
Location: Dallas, TX Company: Melnic Consulting Group Description: This is a great opportunity for a
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Inpatient GI department of this leading
academic children’s hospital. Their
board-certified gastroenterologists specialize in providing care for children
with digestive and nutritional disorders, using the very latest medications and
treatments for these young patients. As a
health care provider/member of the GI team, you will support their mission of
making life better for children by improving access to quality care. Using your clinical expertise and pediatric
nursing skills and experience, you will provide patient care that supports
their patient/family centered care model and nursing philosophy. The GI Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants work 24/7 to provide care for inpatient pre-post liver and small bowel transplant patients, as well as general GI admissions (irritable bowel disease or failure to thrive). You will foster an environment of teamwork
within your group and consult with other health care professionals, patients
and families to formulate and initiate health care plans. Additional responsibilities include providing
clinical leadership to other health care professionals through mentoring,
education and clinical consultation, and participation in hospital-wide
performance and quality measurement programs.

Qualifications: Master’s level degree from an accredited program with preparation as a Nurse Practitioner; current RN licensure in the State of Texas; full authorization from Texas Board of Nursing to practice as a Nurse Practitioner; current BLS/CPR certification; current PALS certification or within 6 months of date of hire; transplant and/or GI experience required; current acute care certification, required; must be fully credentialed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner; minimum of two years of experience in pediatrics or related specialized area of nursing preferred.
