This is a great opportunity to join a leading children’s hospital as the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the department of Child Abuse and Neglect. Their mission is to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all forms of Child Abuse and Neglect by fostering excellence in clinical care, research, education and investigation. The clinic is the largest of its kind in the State of Missouri and it has been recognized for its leadership in the field of child abuse pediatrics.

You will become a member of this team of pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners who are experts in child abuse and neglect. They evaluate and provide services to possible victims of all types of abuse and neglect and their families, serving approximately 2,000 outpatients and 300 inpatients every year. Responsibilities of the full-time PNP in Child Abuse and Neglect at this leading children’s hospital are to provide comprehensive health care services to include health histories, physical examinations, plans of care and treatment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and procedures and family education. Demonstrating clinical leadership, participating in performance improvement initiatives and clinical research are also expected.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree, MSN preferred; 1-2 years of experience; current Missouri or Kansas RN license required; current Nurse Practitioner certification required; current documentation of recognition from the MO/KS State Board of Nursing recognizing the individual as able to title, designate, represent and practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
