Become
a member of the Pediatric Intensive Care team at this leading children’s
hospital as the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the PICU. This facility is ranked in the top 5% of the
nation’s hospitals, having earned Magnet designation for nursing excellence as
well as being named among American’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report in 2009. Their promise is to meet the health needs of
the region’s children by providing excellent care for every child, every
day. They have embarked on an expansion
of the medical center that will increase the space of the facility by 40% by
2011.
As the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the PICU at this leading children’s hospital, your responsibility will be to provide and direct the comprehensive and expert advanced nursing care required for critically ill or injured children who require 24 hour monitoring and their families. Using your advanced knowledge and expert clinical skills to manage the care of these patients in the PICU, you will report clinically to the Medical Director of the PICU and administratively to the Vice President of Nursing Services. This is a full-time, flexible, 24 hour shift position for which acute care certification is required.

Qualifications:
MSN; minimum of 3 years RN or PNP pediatric critical care experience, or completing a formal program in Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Licensure, Registration and/or Certification; current license to practice professional nursing in Texas; certification for advanced practice by the State of Texas; PALS certification; acute care certification required.
