Title: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Hyperinsulism-Endocrinology
Location: Philadelphia, PA Company: Melnic Consulting Group Description: There is
currently a great opportunity for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Hyperinsulism-Endocrinology unit
of a leading children’s hospital in the eastern United States. This
hospital was voted the #1 pediatric hospital in the U.S. by Parents Magazine in
2009, has achieved Magnet status for nursing excellence and was ranked 1st,
2nd or 3rd in nine out of ten pediatric specialties in the August, 2010 issue
of Best Children's Hospitals by U.S. News
and World Report. The
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Hyperinsulism Center at this leading
children’s hospital will work under the supervision of the Director of
Nursing. This is primarily an inpatient role with responsibilities
for managing the hyperinsulism and hypoglycemic inpatient population to include
patient and family education, resident/attending rounds, coordination of care
across multiple departments and discharge planning for patients. Critical analysis and problem-solving skills,
the ability to interpret laboratory and radiographic data and to perform
diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are key skills required to work with
these patients with a disorder that causes low blood sugar. For more

Qualifications: License to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of PA, required; licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) in the Commonwealth of PA, required; eligibility for or possession of a national certification as a Nurse Practitioner, required; graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Masters degree in Nursing, required; minimum of 2 years pediatric nursing experience, preferred; experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferred; advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills for patients and families across all developmental levels, preferred.
