The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the PICU of this leading children’s hospital will work with the PICU team in the care and management of patients from newborn to adolescents, aged 0-18, providing a full range of services. They will provide comprehensive care to critically ill and injured children including diagnosis and treatment of complex life threatening conditions and performing emergent and invasive procedures. Specific responsibilities include performing admission histories and physicals, creating plans of care and collaborating with the attending physician during the entire patient course. They will use their pediatric nursing skills and experience to assess and interpret the data and information needed to identify each patient’s care requirements and provide that family-centered care for their patients.

Qualifications:
MSN or graduate of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational programs, or by that committee’s predecessor or successor entities, required; current RN license in the State of Texas, required; recognition as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (or eligible) by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners, or Physician Assistant (PA-C), licensed in the State of Texas, required; current CPR/BLS and PALS certifications, required; previous PICU experience, preferred.
