PCICS Advanced Practice Provider Review Course

Update 7/13 – Registration is full for the Advanced Practice Provider Course, sponsored by the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (PCICS). This is an incredibly valuable course for advanced practice providers who work in pediatric cardiac intensive/acute care units.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

• Provide a comprehensive review of the didactic content in the PCICS Advanced Practice Provider Curriculum book, which is a compilation of peer-reviewed, evidence-based education modules containing detailed information and recommended reading on topics necessary for managing CICU patients.
• Topics include anatomy, physiology, and management of congenital heart disease lesions, post-operative complications, heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, heart transplantation, EKG interpretation and arrhythmia management, and mechanical ventilation.
• Facilitate application of knowledge to the management of patients in case scenarios.
• Standardize the education of advanced practice providers working in pediatric cardiac intensive/acute care units.
